Ernesto, the fine and elegant "showman" as well as director of our end-of-campaign magazines of 1941 in Pola and of Mak pi in Livorno in March 1943, embarked on Rome on April 15, 1943 and died with it on September 9 when the ship, with the insignia of the Commander in Chief of the FF.NN, BB., sank, broken in two sections by German rocket bombs, in the Gulf of Asinara,
